Week of September 3, 2017 The western, or long leaf aster is in bloom. It is found in various areas of Lambert park, but especially along the banks of the stream as it exits from the mountain at the top of Spring trail. It is a tall, purple daisy-like flower! You can also find patches of Rocky Mountain hemlock parsley spread throughout the park. |
Week of August 8, 2017
The chokecherries are ripening along the trails. Compare them with the bloom pictures from early spring on the trees and bushes page. We also have some beautiful hoary tansyasters in bloom. They vary in color from light to deep purple. They open when the sun comes up, so you'll miss them if you walk too early! The rabbit brush has also started to bloom with small yellow flowers. |

The Hooker's Evening Primrose as well as the White Sweet Clover can be seen at the water diversion up Box Elder Canyon, just up the mountain from Lambert Park. The Common Burdock lines the trail along Rodeo Up in Lambert Park. |
